Services Offered
Just Kids OT offers a variety of therapeutic services for children of all ages. Services will be tailored to meet the sensory, motor, developmental, learning, behavioral and emotional needs of the child.
Comprehensive Evaluations – The use of standardized assessment tools, non-standardized assessment tools, parent interview, and clinical observations will be used to assess the child’s performance.
Individual Sessions – Individual therapy sessions will target areas of deficit determined by the evaluation. Areas that may be targeted include, but are not limited to,
Gross Motor Skills: movement of the large muscles in the arms, and legs.
Fine Motor Skills: movement and dexterity of the small muscles in the
hands and fingers.
Visual Motor Skills: a child’s movement based on the perception of visual
information.
Oral Motor Skills: movement of muscles in the mouth,
lips, tongue, and jaw, including sucking, biting, chewing, and licking
Self-Care Skills: daily dressing, feeding and toilet tasks.
Sensory Integration: ability to take in, sort out, and respond to the
input received from the world.
Motor Planning Skills: ability to plan, implement, and
sequence motor tasks.
Parent Education – Consultation with parents to assure continuity with therapy sessions and carry-over with treatment recommendations
Handwriting Without
Tears® – Remediation of handwriting deficits through this fun, entertaining, and educationally sound
instructional method for all students, pre-k through cursive.
How Does Your Engine
Run – This
innovative program promotes awareness of how individuals regulate
their arousal states and encourages the use of sensory-motor strategies to change or maintain states of alertness.
Group Sessions – Group sessions will be implemented to target common goals, such as handwriting skills, social skills and/or sensory regulation skills. Groups will begin based on level of interest and commonality of needs.
